Brian Michael Harper Memorial Scholarship

Criteria, which must be met by applicants, are as follows:

Ø  African American High School Senior, graduating in June 2024 and will be attending Cornell University or currently enrolled in Cornell University.

Ø  Evidence of good citizenship and community service

Ø  Minimum grade point average of 85 (or the equivalent letter grade)

Ø  Letter of acceptance (or acceptance forthcoming) to Cornell University.

The Applicant must:

1.   Complete the online or PDF application

2.   If you are a high school senior:

  • Submit a personal statement explaining his/her interests, experiences, need for the scholarship, and evidence of community activities/services either online or mail to the PO box shown below

  • Submit a recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or principal either online or mail to the PO box shown below

  • Have his/her school counselor mail an official transcript to the PO box shown below

3.   If you are a student attending Cornell University:

  • Submit a personal statement explaining his/her interests, experiences, need for the scholarship, and evidence of community activities/service to otherss either online or mail to the PO box shown below

  • Submit a letter of recommendation either online or to the PO box shown below

  • Submit an current offical college transcript to the PO box shown below

4.   If selected as a finalist, be available for a virtual interview, which will be scheduled between May 4 -11, 2024

The scholarship application, personal statement, letter of recommendation, and transcript (student currently attending Cornell) must be received by the scholarship committee by April 22, 2024 or postmarked no later than April 22, 2024.

Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered!
